We’re excited to welcome Dr. Karlyn Green of Foundations PT to Fit Lab!

Many of you already know Karly as a longtime member of our community, and now she’s bringing 15+ years of physical therapy experience into the gym to help our members move better, recover smarter, and continue training at a high level. What makes this special is Karly understands how we train, how our athletes move, and what it takes to stay healthy while continuing to make progress.

Her approach is simple: keep you training while addressing the root cause of pain, mobility issues, or movement limitations. Whether you’re dealing with nagging aches, working through an injury, or simply want to move better and perform at your best, Foundations PT is an incredible new resource for our community. And the best part, it’s at Fit Lab!!

Dr. Karlyn Green of Foundations PT:

Who am I?
My name is Dr. Karlyn Green. I am a board-certified specialist in orthopedic physical
therapy and cardiopulmonary physical therapy. I have over 15 years’ experience as a
physical therapist.

I have been coming to Fit Lab Studios since 2021. Immediately I was drawn to our
coaches and the community that continues to thrive. As a physical therapist I have
always appreciated the attention to each individual and care for the programming at Fit
Lab. I am excited to provide for this community through physical therapy, instead of just
singing and dancing in the corner at 6 am classes.

Why?
Most traditional physical therapy pulls you out of your training. I keep you in it.
My goal is to help you continue doing what you love while addressing the root cause of
pain or limitation. That means fewer unnecessary restrictions and more strategic
modifications that allow you to keep progressing. For more specifics, read my Physical
Therapy Philosophy!

Mission Statement
At Foundations PT, my mission is to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and
performance by restoring movement, improving strength, and building a foundation that
supports long-term health and athletic success.

Vision Statement
To redefine physical therapy by integrating it seamlessly into fitness, creating a culture
where injury prevention, performance, and longevity go hand in hand.

Philosophy
I believe that optimal movement and performance are built from the ground up. By
focusing on joint mobility, flexibility, and strength, I can help create a solid foundation
that allows you to move efficiently, perform at a higher level, and reduce the risk of
injury. I look to address the root cause to symptoms. I help clients stay in the gym, train
consistently, and perform at their best without pain.

What to Expect
What to Expect at Your First Visit (Initial Examination):

At Foundations Physical Therapy, your first session is not spent on a table with passive
treatments—it’s an active, one-on-one experience focused on understanding how you
move, train, and perform.

I start with a detailed conversation about your history, goals, and current training
routine. Whether you’re dealing with pain, recovering from injury, or trying to break
through a performance plateau, I want to understand the full picture.

From there, I will take you through a movement-based assessment. This often includes
foundational patterns like squatting, hinging, pressing, and pulling—so I can see how
your body performs in the same environment you train in every day. Because we’re
located at Fit Lab studios, we can assess and treat you in a real-world setting, not just
on a treatment table.

From there an assessment of strength, mobility, and flexibility will occur. This will help
me identify the root cause, so we get to work right away.
Before you leave your first session, you will:
 Understand why you’re having pain or limitations
 Have a clear plan moving forward
 Be given targeted exercises or modifications you can immediately apply in your
training

Our goal is simple: help you keep training while improving how you move—so you can
build a stronger foundation and perform at your best without pain.
Initial Evaluations take 60-75 minutes.

Follow-Up Visits
Ongoing Care That Keeps You Moving Forward
At Foundations Physical Therapy, follow-up sessions are designed to build on your
progress—not restart the process.

Each visit is one-on-one and tailored to how you’re responding, how you’re training, and
what your goals are. I don’t follow a template. As your body adapts, your plan evolves.

During your sessions, you can expect:
 Progression of your strength, mobility, and control
 Hands-on treatment when needed to improve movement and reduce pain
 Real-time coaching on lifts and movements specific to your training
 Adjustments to your program so you can continue training safely and effectively
Follow up visits are 60 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions:

No pain, no gain…Right?
Not here.

Pain is a signal—not something to ignore or push through. Our job is to understand why
it’s happening and address the root cause. Training hard is important. But training
smart—without unnecessary pain—is what leads to long-term progress.

Do you take insurance?
No—this is a cash-based clinic.
This allows for one-on-one, individualized care without the limitations of insurance,
including longer sessions, no required referrals, and a focus on what you need—not
what insurance dictates. As part of the Fit Lab community, we keep our rates accessible
and provide high-value, performance-driven care.

Do you offer dry needling or other specialty services?
My focus is on what delivers the most consistent, long-term results: movement,
manual therapy, and strength. This includes joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and
individualized exercise programming. I do not offer services like dry needling or instrument-assisted treatments. If those are
appropriate for you, I’m happy to connect you with trusted providers.

Do I need to see a physician before I get started?

No. Physical therapists have direct access, meaning you can begin care without a
physician referral. I will guide you through a thorough intake process to understand your
medical history and ensure physical therapy is appropriate for you. If needed, I will refer
you to the right provider.

Can I keep working out while in physical therapy?
In most cases—yes. My goal is to keep you training, not shut you down. Together we
will modify movements, adjust volume or intensity, and help you train around pain safely
while we address the underlying issue.

How is this different from traditional physical therapy?
Traditional clinics often separate rehab from training.
At Foundations PT, I integrate the two. Because my location is in Fit Lab Studios, I can
assess and treat you in the same environment you train in—using real movements and
real equipment.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes, one-on-one with your physical therapist.
No aides. No double-booking. Just focused, individualized care.

How many visits will I need?
It depends on your goals, injury, and how your body responds.
Some clients need just a few sessions to get back on track, while others benefit from a
longer progression. My goal is always to get you results as efficiently as possible—and
keep you independent.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move.
If applicable, bring your training shoes and anything relevant to your workouts—we may
incorporate them into your session.

Do you work with non-CrossFit clients?
Yes. While I’m located at Fit Lab Studios and work closely with that community, we help
anyone looking to move better, get stronger, and stay active without pain.
Still have questions?
